TX Handheld PDA w/ Hard Case Reviews

Great apps - calendar, address book, can get email, check some websites (not all, though).
Does not have java, so some websites won't work. Also, internal battery is not user-replaceable.

I always say, "if it doesn't get into my PDA, it doesn't happen". This is my second PDA, the first was a Sony Clie, which started me on this electronic device dependency cycle. When it ran out of room, I searched for the best, top of the line PDA I could find. It's invaluable as I manage 3 busy teenagers, a home and a full time job. I even use this for my grocery list (Splash-shopper) 'cuz it lives in my purse and isn't left on the fridge. I check my email most often with it 'cuz it boots faster than my PC.However, I'm distressed that the battery is not user replaceable and I will be forced to either toss it and buy a new unit (a complete waste), or to send it off to Palm to be replaced, forcing me into electronic withdrawal while I await it's return. It could also use Java, and more internal memory as my 2GB SD card is full of music. But, for now, it's as good as it gets.

i use it everyday during my clinical rotations to quickly look up medications and diseases. I installed a english dictionary and a bible as well. Now i can get rich of all the thick hard-cover books.
the screen turns off itself so quickly, within 10 secs or so. Still haven't figured out how to change that but is it even an option? Thus, i have to press the power button many times during use.

a great investment for pharmacy students on clinical rotations...highly recommended for everyone.Choose palm os system because there are many free applications available. The hard case that comes with it is a great deal as well, i paid the same price to the palm itself

The TX was very easy to set up and mostly self explanitory. It is easy to navigate through the different applications and to set up prefrences.
The hard case makes it a bit clumbsy but is worth it for me for the protection.

I am a first time PDA user and this product is all that I wanted in a PDA. The Internet connection and email set up were easy for a novice like myself. I did have a problem loading the software onto my laptop and after a call to Palm I realized it was a Windows issue and not the Palm software. I was able to load the Palm software onto my desktop without a hitch. I am still trying to resolve my laptop problem. The TX screen is large and easy to read, and customize. I have not yet used all of the features, but for my needs, the calendar, note pad, and the "Office Documents" are my main concern and I am happy to say that all of my Microsoft Office Documents are now with me when I am out of the office. The best thing about the TX, for me, is that my purse now weighs several pounds less than it used to.
